"Diwali" The festival of light
"Diwali" The festival of light
The name "Diwali" or "Divali" is a contraction of "Deepavali" (Sanskrit: ??????? Dipavali), which translates into "row of lamps". Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. These lamps are kept on during the night and one's house is cleaned, both done in order to make the goddess Lakshmi feel welcome.Firecrackers are burst because it is believed that it drives away evil spirits.
But now in this era, we are not finding an external evil, everything is internal. So burning why crackers externally? Is it blatant?
We need some crackers to burst internally?
Adverse Effects Of Bursting Crackers On Health
1. Apart from the mild burns and accidents the children suffer, we also breathe the toxic air suffering from nasal irritation and throat congestion.
2. Bursting crackers may increase blood pressure and aggravate heart disease. Nausea, headache and giddiness are common effects of bursting crackers.
3. Lung infections such as coughing, sneezing. Respiratory disorders like asthma, wheezing often get severe during Diwali festivals
Last but not the least the expenditure incurred in buying the crackers is huge.Every year hundred crores of rupees are spent on these crackers which otherwise could have been used for some constructive purpose. These expenditure disturbs your budget and you have to your hard earned money just to create smoke and noise.
So this Diwali we should take a pledge that we would not use crackers .Rather than you can spend half that money in useful purposes like distributing sweets among poorer people, purchasing new clothes, giving Gifts to your family and friends so that your Bond with them Strengthens.
This is what I can share on Diwali, if anything is wrong in the thought process; pls do correct me :)
I've chosen this medium to establish the flow of thoughts and conceptions. Looking forward for the encouragement and blessings from the readers.
